Floating Islands

These are just a couple of the floating island options we have in stock. Our floating islands can hold a single heavy duty plant, or a combination of plants to create a unique look in your pond. There are different size islands available with a variety of plant options to fill them. Not only does the floating island add another excellent coverage and shade option for your fish, it also adds a plant filtering system to your pond.

They Are Back!

The Chinese Hi Fin Banded Sharks and Northern Pitcher Plants are in!

Chinese Hi Fin Banded Sharks
The Chinese Hi Fin Banded Sharks are unique, algae eating sharks that can grow to be up to 3 feet in length. They are a winter hardy fish, thought to be one of the most primitive members of the Cyprinidae family. Unlike true sharks, these fish are great algae eaters and will not harm the other fish or plants in your pond.

Northern Pitcher Plants
The Norther Pitcher Plant is a carnivorous wildflower that can grow anywhere from 7-23 inches in height. This plant is best known for its pitcher-shaped leaves that are speckled with brownish-red color. The pitcher-shaped, red, flaring leaves grow up to 11 inches in length. The leaves are lined with downward pointing hairs that allow them to collect rainwater and excrete digestive chemicals. Insects are often attracted to the plant because of the color, and are trapped and drown by the same downward pointing hairs. The insects are then digested, allowing the plant to absorb the resulting nutrients.

Each Pitcher Plant also grows a single red, nodding flower. These flowers grow up to 2 inches in width, and have thick purplish-red sepals, red, rounded petals, and multiple stamens. The Northern Pitcher Plant will be a great asset to any pond, and will thrive best in a bog environment.
